KEEP ST. PETE LIT is on a mission to elevate literacy rates among youth in South St. Petersburg!
We’re doing this through the installation of free book boxes, titled WORD! Book Boxes. We give out 5000+ books a year through this program.
When a child grabs a book from a WORD! Book Box they’ll have free access to new culturally inclusive and uplifting books. Often these books go into homes with multiple children, so we are serving between 10,000-15,000 kids a year.
WORD! Book Boxes are located at:
- Community Health Centers of Pinellas- Johnnie Ruth Clarke Center
- Thomas “Jet” Jackson Recreation Center
- Childs Park Recreation Center
- Atwater’s
- Starling School
- St. Pete Fight Team
